Special Investigations Bureau

The Special Investigation Bureau (SIB) is designed and administered to deter, investigate, and suppress all violations of law relating to narcotics, vice crimes, and street gang related crimes. The bureau’s lieutenant is administratively responsible for day-to-day operations. SIB is divided into four separate components Vice, Narcotics, Gang Enforcement, Special Operations and Regional Narcotics Suppression Program (RNSP). The Vice/Narcotics Units are located at Sheriff's headquarters, John Wayne Airport and the Aliso Viejo station. The Gang Enforcement Teams work out of Sheriffs headquarters, and the Aliso Viejo station. RNSP is a multi-jurisdictional program involving federal, state and local police agencies focusing on major drug traffickers and money launderers.
