17-083 Use of Force

In May of 2017, deputies were involved in a use of force at the Central Men's Jail in Santa Ana.  The use of force was determined to be outside of policy with policy violations addressed and discipline issued.

In-Custody Death- July 11, 2023

On Tuesday, July 11, 2023, 50-year-old Jason Williams from Costa Mesa, CA housed at the Central Men’s Jail in Module F died at Orange County Global Medical Center, Santa Ana.  At the time, Williams was awaiting trial. At the conclusion of the Orange County District Attorney’s independent investigation, Williams's manner of death was determined to be natural, and his cause of death was identified as hemopericardium due to aortic dissection and hypertensive cardiovascular disease.
