Two Lake Elsinore teens went missing in August 1970 and were later found deceased in San Juan Capistrano.
Sixteen-year-old Edwin Miller and 13-year-old Genise Rispin were last seen around 9 p.m. on Aug. 27, 1970 when they left Crane’s Lakeside Park in Lake Elsinore. It is believed that the teens were picked up together when they went missing.
On Aug. 31, 1970, Miller was found deceased by the Riverside Sheriff’s Department around 6:30 p.m. at the base of a turnout off the Ortega Highway. A few weeks later, on Sept. 12 1970, Rispin was found deceased by OC Sheriff’s deputies in the city of San Juan Capistrano.
The cause of both deaths were determined by the OC Coroner Division to be homicide by asphyxiation.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department investigators are still hoping to find new information about the murders of Edwin Miller and Genise Rispin.
