YORBA LINDA, Calif. (Nov. 7, 2026): On Friday, Nov. 6, at 8:01 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Yorba Linda Boulevard and Ohio Street in Yorba Linda regarding a vehicle traffic collision. Deputies arrived and found two vehicles involved.
One vehicle collided with a tree while the second vehicle had minor damage. As a result of the impact, two teenage minors suffered serious injuries and were transported to the hospital. The driver, identified as Matthew Andres Santome (16) of Placentia, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The 15-year-old female passenger remains in critical condition. There were no other injuries reported or found.
The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Neither drugs or alcohol are suspected to be a contributing factor in this incident.
