On October 20th, 1996, Robert Fierro was shot and killed by two masked male subjects with a .380 caliber handgun, during an apparent car jacking. The subjects fled the area with Fierro’s vehicle, which was later found in a nearby alley behind 8900 Pacific Ave, Stanton. The wheels (Dayton 88 spoke wire) and the Alpine stereo were missing from the vehicle, but the stereo was later recovered. Information was obtained that Jeffrey Street Gang Members, who use 8911 #D Pacific, Stanton CA, as a crash pad, were involved in taking parts from the vehicle the morning of the shooting. This information led to the service of several search warrants and interviews, which identified Jose Morett as a member/associate of the Jeffrey Street Gang, who were involved in the incident.
