Twelve Orange County Sheriff's Explorers spent January 15, 16, and 17 in Chandler, Arizona competing in the 2010 Chandler Law Enforcement Explorer Tactical Competition. Post Coordinator Sergeant Dan Daniels (Reserve Bureau) and Post Advisors Deputy Courtney Todoroff (Theo Lacy Division), and Deputy Gregg Surrell (Lamoreaux Justice Center) accompanied the Explorers on their journey. All of the Explorers' registration fees and lodging were paid for by private donations or funds from Explorers working paid events. The Sheriff's team competed against over 500 explorers from Explorer Posts throughout the nation. Due to the excellent tactical training they received from S.W.A.T. Deputies Mike Perez and Shane Millhollan, Explorer Post 449 took a first place trophy in Tactical Scouting, a third place trophy in the Incident Command System and a fourth place trophy in the Multi Level Assault.
